THE HOME FOR PROGRESSIVE POLITICS

This Week’s Discussion:

In this week’s episode, we consider how low a political party in America can sink.  We explore the news of the week and how it all evidences a political party that has given up any pretense of wanting to govern for all Americans.  The reaction to Nikki Haley's resignation demonstrates how low the bar has been set for members of this administration.  The climate threat continues to grow for everyone other than US Republicans, even as Hurricane Michael proves it can be ignored, but not avoided.  Saudi Arabia kills a journalist and US again displays its abdication of its world leadership role.  Trump is an international  criminal and his resume is phony...and his base doesn't care.  GOP again demonstrates it can only stay in power through lies, bigotry, and voter suppression.  Brett Kavanaugh joins the Supreme Court and thereby reduces whatever legitimacy it had left.  Republicans show what they are made of.

This Week’s Discussion:

In this week’s episode, we remember on John McCain after his recent passing.  A senator and war hero, we call upon the times when he represented a rift in the Republican Party, but also remember when his maverick personality was seemingly not so evident.

How the “swamp” seems to be growing each passing week.  Focusing on the recent events of the Manafort conviction and Cohen plea, there appears to be no end to the level of corruption and injustice occurring within both the Trump administration and Republican Party.
